Benjamin Gomado is a seasoned energy professional and Electrical & Electronic Engineer with extensive experience across the renewable energy, hydropower, process industry, and WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) sectors. As a certified NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) PV Associate, he strongly believes in the transformative power of sustainable energy access for environmental preservation and socioeconomic development.

Driven by a deep commitment to bridging the energy access gap, Benjamin is an ardent advocate for Sustainable Development Goal 7; ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all. He provides part-time consultancy in Solar PV system design, assessment, and installation for households, businesses, and institutions. Beyond his technical work, he is actively engaged in training and mentoring young energy professionals, promoting inclusive energy access and economic empowerment.

Benjamin’s expertise and advocacy has earned him speaking engagements at several high-level platforms, including a public lecture on “Renewable Energy and Energy Management” at the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) conference in Nigeria. He has also authored and co-authored publications in the energy field, notably co-authoring an academic book titled: “The Recent EU Policy Framework to Guide the Update of Sustainable Biofuels and Gaseous Biomass Fuels from Biowaste in the Transport Sector.”

He plays a key role in nurturing future leaders in the energy space as a Program Facilitator for the Africa Fellowship for Young Energy Leaders (AFYEL), an initiative dedicated to empowering the next generation of African energy leaders to drive a zero-carbon future.

Benjamin is a member of several professional organizations including: International Association of Electrical, Electronic and Energy Engineering (IAEEEE), International Association of Engineers (IAENG), Ghana Institution of Engineering (GhIE), Council on Large Electric Systems (CIGRE) Next Generation Network (NGN), West African Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (WAIMM).

Beyond his engineering and energy advocacy work, Benjamin is also a minister of the gospel, serving as the Presiding Elder of McKeown English Assembly in the La Area of The Church of Pentecost in Accra, Ghana.
