Dr. Segun Adaju is a distinguished renewable energy expert with over 30 years of multi-sectoral experience spanning banking, consulting, project management, and clean energy innovation. He holds a B.Sc. in Economics and an MBA from the University of Lagos, enhanced by executive training from globally renowned institutions such as Harvard Business School, MIT Sloan School of Management, Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.

With a focus on renewable energy financing and project implementation, Dr. Adaju is at the forefront of efforts to bring alternative energy solutions to off-grid and underserved communities across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa. His passion lies in creating economic opportunities for the base of the pyramid (BoP), helping low-income populations improve their earning potential through access to clean, affordable energy. His transformational journey from mainstream commercial and retail banking to microfinance and ultimately to clean energy entrepreneurship speaks volumes of his commitment to inclusive development.

Dr. Adaju’s consultancy portfolio includes high-impact, donor-funded projects supported by leading international development institutions like Department for International Development (DfID), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United States Agency for International Development (USAID), World Bank, Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, Bank of Industry (BOI), and International Centre for Energy, Environment & Development (ICEED). He has also collaborated with key government stakeholders such as The Federal Ministry of Environment, The Federal Ministry of Power and multiple State Governments across Nigeria.

As the former President of the Renewable Energy Association of Nigeria (REAN), Dr. Adaju championed policy dialogue, private sector engagement, and cross-sectoral partnerships to accelerate Nigeria’s energy transition. He currently serves as mentor for the West African Forum for Clean Energy Financing (WAFCEF) and Mentor to entrepreneurs under the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Programme (TEEP)
