Dr. Ivie Ehanmo is a distinguished multi-jurisdictional energy law and regulatory expert, widely recognized for her work in advancing sustainable energy systems across Africa and Europe. With over 15 years of experience in the global energy landscape, she brings deep sectoral knowledge and strategic foresight to clean energy access, legal innovation, and regulatory reform.

She is the visionary Founder of Electricity Lawyer (EL); a first-of-its-kind, data-driven legal and regulatory platform that provides tailored research, insights, and advisory services across power markets in Sub-Saharan Africa. Electricity lawyer bridges the knowledge gap in energy governance, empowering stakeholders to make informed decisions and fostering a more transparent, accessible, and inclusive energy sector. At its core, EL promotes energy access through knowledge access.

With over a decade of experience in energy sector consulting, legal and regulatory advisory, governance and transaction advisory and strategic policy development across Africa and globally, Ivie has and continues to provide technical assistance and expert services to global institutions and agencies such as the World Bank, U.S Department of State (DOS)- Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR), U.S Agency for International Development (USAID), Millennium Challenge Corporation (USA), United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO)- United Kingdom Nigeria Infrastructure Advisory Facility (UKNiAF), U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) funded projects, Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), The Energy for Growth Hub, and many others.

She has led key research initiatives like the German Federal Foreign Office’s Hydrogen Diplomacy project, which involved developing legal and regulatory frameworks for green hydrogen production across Africa.

Leveraging her cross-continental expertise, Dr. Ehanmo supports governments and private entities in reengineering their energy systems from policy design to regulatory alignment and governance reform. Her ability to connect the dots between technical frameworks, investor confidence, and community impact makes her a valued partner in building resilient, inclusive, and future-proof energy ecosystems.
